Have a happy rest-of-the-summer! :)

It’s funny how I always plan to say this and that on my blog posts whenever I post-process my photos, but then after uploading them here, I seem to completely forget about everything I had thought about. Maybe it’s not that funny. It’s annoying at times. When I was a kid, I always had the idea that I have the sharpest memory.

When I was a kid, I found a film camera in my father’s drawer. Since then, I have come to like the idea of photography. And lately, my need in wanting to shoot in film has  been bugging me again when my friends, Weng and Kat, brought their toy camera and Instax to our last day of internship. (Cue confetti.) You can call it “nakikiuso” or whatever you want. All I know is that, when I was a kid, I was against digital when it first came out. It actually took me long enough to love the fact that you can view your photos before printing it. And since then, I’ve been relying on it. Viewing your photos won’t do you good sometimes. I turn off my display whenever I want to challenge myself. I should challenge myself more. We all should.

Going back to film, since all I have right now is digital for I still have to look for an old film lens to replace my father’s expired one, all I can do is to make my photos look film and raw.

The photos are bluish which I kind of love. My photos are always warm. This is definitely something new for me.

Today, I had my second part of driving lessons. When I was a kid, I used to sit on my father’s lap while he parks the car in the garage. My brother and I would take turns. I never thought I could actually drive a car because when I was a kid, I always thought I would have my own driver.

When I was a kid, I never got the chance to play with a kite. I wish I was the playful kind. All the energy that should have been released then are still in me. Now, even long elevator rides give me adrenalin rush. I WANT ADVENTURES!!

No matter how many times I pass by this, no matter how orange and unappealing the lights are, I will always love this subway.

I got my new laptop last Friday courtesy of my father. I have been wanting for a new one since last year, and finally I got one for my birthday. I wanted to get a MacBook Pro at first, and though I have to admit that it’s very impressive, I decided to stick with a Windows laptop because I still can’t get used to iOs’s technical details (or maybe I’m just being nostalgic with Windows), and especially because I love Samsung. I seriously don’t know why.

And because I just installed my Photoshop, there seems to be a problem with my video card. I can’t use other important functions of Photoshop.

I’m turning 21 in less than a month. WHATTTTT?!!!! And I don’t want to be 21 just yet. I wanna go back to being 17 or 18. I feel so old, but Yanyan makes me feel young. :))

It has been way too long since I touched my paints and brushes. Messy brushstrokes. Heeee..

I find the inverted ombre a very interesting hairstyle. And if I could get it for myself, I’d dye my hair with the color purple gumdrop. I WISH.

I found it too plain so I added vector roses. :))

I was not sure if I got the internship at Ninja, but it turned out I did. :D First task was to take photos of my co-interns, who all are so amazing on what they do that it makes you sigh with wonder about… life.

So, I did my nails yesterday using the nail polish and nail art pen I got from Etude House, which by the way, feels so different now that Dara is not the brand ambassador, but instead Sulli and Krystal of f(x). Not a fan of them. I only like Victoria among the f(x) girls.

They’re really messy. My nails, I mean. Hehe.

During my high school years, from the moment I had a gown designed by, well, a designer, I always longed to be a fashion designer and have my own clothing line. Some of my designs then, are surprisingly what the trend is now. Trying to design some clothes, I now find it difficult. I have met so many people and I know so much that sometimes I just feel like I want to be ignorant of what is happening around me and just draw and do whatever I would like to. The lesser I see, the better I think. That I believe so.

Before I entered my present school, we had to take an exam according to your desired course. The course I picked was Fashion Design, and I just remembered, before taking the exam, I changed it to Advertising Arts. I wonder what could be me now if I had proceeded with the Fashion Design course. Well, my curiosity and thirst for knowledge never ends.

After college, I think I know now what I’ll be doing. :)

PS. Sometimes I wonder.. if there are people meant to be lawyers, doctors, advertising practitioners, and photographers, are there also people meant to just learn for life? Like, just learning, not doing anything else. But then again, I guess it wouldn’t really be “right” if you’re always taking and not giving anything. In my own parallel universe, I get paid for learning. Learning is what I do best.

I came up with this concept as I thought of what I should present for our Art Direction class’s final plate. I thought of things I wanted to do for this project, planned for it, then thought of another thing again, and planned for it again. This process continued for sometime until someone told me to go with what I do best. Then somehow, I became sure on what I really want to do – photography.

So as for the concept, why dreams?

There are just too many things I want to do, and thinking about this project makes me think of what’s ahead. TOMORROW is something, or someplace, waiting to be explored. So that’s how I came up with the concept. My subject is supposedly in a place called TOMORROW, which I interpreted as a very dreamy place. And my subject, she’s there exploring the said place, waiting for something exciting to happen.

The whole piece is my interpretation on how I want to visit “Tomorrow” even for just a bit and see what I’m going to be in the 5 or 10 years. Or even try different kinds of tomorrows then see what I like best. But that’s not how life really works.

The last week of the school year is coming. And I’m busy preparing for exams, presentations, and projects. Which explains the photos above. They are a part of one of the most important final projects I’m preparing for.

There are deadlines everyday. If not deadlines, exams to review for. I’ve been sleeping in late these past few weeks. I just can’t wait for summer.

But so far, so good.
